HOW OFTEN SHOULD I
HAVE MY CARPET CLEANED? |
|
| |
There
is no simple answer for this
question. But on average, it is
recommended that your carpets be
cleaned a minimum of once per year.
Some situation call for more
frequent cleanings (kids, allergy,
pets) - but this should be the
minimum. |

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY
UPHOLSTERY CLEANED? |
|
| |
According to American Furniture
Manufacturers Association, you
should not let your upholstery get
soiled to the point of a noticeable
or visible change in the color of
the fabric. This means that most
upholstery has to be cleaned as a
regular maintenance practice once
every 18 to 24 months or before soil
builds up and stains the fabric. |

CAN YOU GET OUT RED STAINS?
|
|
| |
We have
a special solution designed
especially for getting out RED
STAINS! It produces a success rate
of about 90%. There is a separate
charge for this as it is an
expensive process, and takes some
time. |

WHICH STAIN REMOVER IS THE BEST ONE? |
|
| |
We will
tell you what works best when we
visit and see your carpet. If you
have used a grocery store products
such as RESOLVE© on a spot, if it
did not remove the stain, it may
have locked it in, permanently
damaging your carpet. We suggest
refraining from these products. |

WHY SOME COMPANIES OFFER CARPET
CLEANING AT $7.00 PER ROOM OR LESS? |
|
| |
You can
pay less and get less. Some ads
offering extremely low prices, free
rooms cleaned, or other free
services can lure consumers into
situations that have special
conditions, fewer services, or
unmentioned add-on costs.
To perform a quality carpet cleaning
(move furniture, thoroughly vacuum,
pre-spot, clean corners and edges)
takes about 30 min. per room.
Companies that charge $7.00 per room
usually spend about 5 min. for each
room - in such a short time it is
impossible to clean well!
The other scam artists will tell you
that you need a "deep cleaning" that
sometimes cost 10 times more than
advertised! There should be no
differentiation between "normal
cleaning" and "special cleaning."
Clean is clean. Every effort must be
made to physically remove as much
soil as possible from carpet during
cleaning. |

IS
MOVING FURNITURE RECOMMENDED? |
|
| |
Unless clearly
specified otherwise, furniture
moving to access and clean carpet
underneath should be considered part
of the normal cleaning job. Items
such as fish tanks, waterbeds,
loaded china cabinets, computers, or
extremely delicate or fragile
furnishings (pianos, antiques) are
considered exceptions. |

WHY DOES THIS STAIN KEEP
REAPPEARING? |
|
| |
Problem carpet stains that magically
reappear after carpet cleaning are
due to a phenomenon called
wicking,
most often observed when a liquid
spill has penetrated the pad.
Regular carpet cleaning which
thoroughly cleans the carpet will
often fail to entirely remove a
spill that has settled into the pad.
As the carpet dries, capillary
action causes the stain to be drawn
back up into the carpet fibers and
the stain magically reappears. If
wicking does occur, the problem is
usually resolved fairly quickly by
re-cleaning the affected area. |
|
| |
It is important to have problem
spills cleaned by a professional
carpet cleaner to be sure the
liquid is removed from your
carpet and pad. Please be
sure to inform your carpet cleaning
technician if any stains are due to
large liquid spills so that extra
precautions can be taken from the
start to reduce the number of
treatments required to remedy the
problem. |
